Dangers of vaping

Vaping poses several health risks, especially for youth and young adults. Here are some of the main dangers:

1. Lung Damage: Vaping can cause serious lung injuries, sometimes called "vaping-associated lung injury" (EVALI), which can lead to hospitalization or even death.

2. Addiction: Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine, which is highly addictive and can harm brain development in teens and young adults.

3. Heart and Blood Vessel Risks: Vaping increases heart rate and blood pressure, raising the risk of heart disease and stroke.

4. Harmful Chemicals: Vape liquids often contain toxic substances like formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and heavy metals, which can damage the lungs and other organs.

5. Mental Health Effects: Nicotine use is linked to anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, especially in young people.

6. Gateway to Smoking: Teens who vape are more likely to start smoking traditional cigarettes.
